Orientation Day 2024 - a new chapter for Erasmus+ Students at UPJPII
On 1 October 2024 at 11:00 a.m., we held an Orientation Day at the Pontifical University of John Paul II in Krakow for Erasmus students arriving for the winter semester. The event was designed to introduce new students to the academic life of the university, showcase the academic opportunities available and introduce them to the cultural richness of the city of Krakow.
At the meeting, students from different European countries had a chance to get to know each other and share their experiences. It was a great chance to make new contacts and get to know people from other countries. The event was run by Tomasz Kniaź and Aleksandra Mirek-Rogowska from the International Cooperation Office. Tomasz is the coordinator for international cooperation and Aleksandra is the coordinator for student exchange. The new members of our academic community were also welcomed by Rev. Dr Andrzej Kielian, who is the Vice-Rector for Internationalisation. During the meeting, participants got to see a presentation about what it's like to study at the Pontifical University of John Paul II. They learned about the different subjects they could study and the many ways they could get involved on campus. They got to know more about the university's fascinating history, as well as the cultural attractions and opportunities in Krakow. After a quick coffee break, the students took part in a workshop led by Aleksandra Mirek-Rogowska, where they discussed the university's internal systems and the practical aspects of working at the university.
Orientation Day was a great chance for our new Erasmus+ students to get to know the university, and also an excellent opportunity to integrate and enrich their knowledge of Krakow. This unique event will certainly make it easier for them to start their academic adventure at the Pontifical University of John Paul II.
