Welcome Day is the gateway to the Polish language, culture and system of education. Organised by the International Cooperation Office is aimed at familiarising incoming students with the country, the city, and the university where they will carry out their mobility.

When?
Twice a year, usually one week before the start of each semester.

Where?

Before meeting you will receive information where it will take place

Why?
To get to know the Polish language, culture, country, the system of education, and the Pontifical University of John Paul II in Krakow, as well as meet other exchange students and visit some landmarks of the region.

The WD is made of little events, presentations, games and of course parties.

Welcome Day will help incoming students to orientate themselves in the Cracow, and it is an excellent opportunity to meet staff and students at the University and get to know each other.

On the first day of 'Welcome day' (first day of mobility), an organizational meeting is held at the University which includes:

  • presentation on important information concerning studies at University,
  • schedule of available courses for foreign students,
  • introducing changes to LA guidance,
  • distribution of 'Information package',
  • presentation of Integration Day plan as well as important social events by student Mentors,
  • practical information on living in Krakow/ Poland (bank account, dormitories payment, registration to a doctor, public transport, sightseeing, traveling, entertainment, etc.),
  • online University Campus tour.

Please feel free to let me know if you require any further information.

Welcome day attendance for all Erasmus Students in winter and summer semesters is obligatory!
Best wishes from Krakow!
