Application procedure
If you wish to study at UPJPII under Erasmus+ programme, firstly check with your home university if it has an agreement with a particular faculty or department at UPJPII. Then you should follow the nomination selection process at your home university, so please contact your coordinators for more information. If your nomination is accepted by us, it does not mean that you as a student are accepted at UPJPII. There are several steps you have to go through in order to receive an acceptance letter.

For students wishing to participate in the Erasmus+ mobility at The Pontifical University of John Paul II in Krakow (PL KRAKÓW 08) during the academic year please check out below informaion about the application procedure and possibilities.
Application requirements
To study at The Pontifical University of John Paul II in Krakow you need to fulfil one of the conditions:
- be a student of a partner higher education institution which has a bilateral cooperation agreement with The Pontifical University of John Paul II in Krakow, within a specific field of study,
- present a decision on referral to study at The Pontifical University of John Paul II in Krakow issued by an external organisation managing exchange programmes (e.g. NAWA, CEEPUS),
In any case, the student's home university should send an official nomination to: incoming@upjp2.edu.pl, providing the following details:
- student's first name (as it appears in the passport),
- student's last name (as it appears in the passport),
- student's e-mail address,
- semester/s student is nominated for,
- student's current field, level and year of study with the official name of the home University,
- field and level of study within which the mobility will take place, with the name of the host faculty where the mobility is to be carried out
- Passport or ID number
Application procedures
- Create your personal account in the IRK system and select the appropriate type of recruitment (short guide available at the end of this section or HERE)
- Fill in all required information and upload photo.
- Check the correctness of the completed data. The data from the recruitment system will be used to create your account in the university system, prepare your student identity card and provide you with the necessary information.
- Submit in the system all documents such as:
- Learning Agreement for Study signed and stamped by you and your home university with the list of proposed courses chosen by you and accepted by your university (with codes of the courses, ECTS number and semester when each course takes part)
- Transcript of Records duly signed and stamped by your university (jpg or pdf file) - this is a document (with stamps and signatures of the authorities of your university), which proves your marks and grades collected so far at your Home University
- EHICH (European Health Insurance Card)
- Language Level Confirmation
- Learning Agreement for Study signed and stamped by you and your home university with the list of proposed courses chosen by you and accepted by your university (with codes of the courses, ECTS number and semester when each course takes part)
Once your application has been confirmed, the administration will verify the accuracy of your details and forward your application to the exchange coordinator.
The conditions and requirements
Exchange students are eligible to be accepted by our University when they:
- have been nominated by the international mobility coordinator at their home universitywithin deadlines,
- have completed at least one year of university studies,
- have proven English language proficiency at B2 level according to CEFR or higher,
- have submitted all the required application documents,
- have chosen courses with a minimum of 20 ETCS per semester.

Below is a list of courses offered in the 2024/2025 academic year. The course syllabus can be found by entering the course name in the search engine in our USOS system.
Once your application has been approved, you will receive a confirmation of acceptance from the Erasmus+ Institutional Coordinator. If for some reason you are unable to take up a place on a study programme at UPJPII, please inform the Erasmus+ Institutional Coordinator in writing as soon as possible.
Letter of acceptance
Once all application documents have been submitted, the Learning Agreement (LA) will be sent to the faculty for approval. As soon as the LA is approved, we will email it to you together with the acceptance letter (visa students will additionally receive other important documents - originals to apply for a visa by post).
