In the academic year 2024/2025, the Church Music course at the Pontifical John Paul II University in Krakow is pleased to welcome an outstanding specialist - Professor Dalibor Miklavčič from the Ljubljana Academy of Music. His presence is a unique opportunity for our students to explore the art of organ improvisation, a key skill for any church organist.

The improvisation workshop: Passion and Professionalism
Professor Miklavčič has already held three intensive workshops during the winter term. Students had the opportunity to work both in groups and individually on different styles of improvisation. These efforts culminated in a presentation of short improvisations at the Institute of Church Music at 35A Prosta Street.

Outlook for the summer term
In the summer semester, Prof. Miklavčič will again visit our University and give lessons on selected instruments of the Archdiocese of Krakow. This will be an opportunity to explore the art of improvisation in new and inspiring spaces. In addition, online consultations and classes will be scheduled to allow for even wider student participation.

Working under the guidance of such an authority as Professor Dalibor Miklavčič is not only an opportunity for our students to improve their skills, but also a chance to discover new inspirations and perspectives in the field of sacred music.
