UPJPII and Abrahamic Family House - New Horizons for International Cooperation
On Wednesday, December 11, a meeting was held at the UPJPII Rector's Office between representatives of the University and a delegation from Abrahamic Family House (AFH) - an Abu Dhabi-based organization supporting interfaith dialogue between Abrahamic religions - Christianity, Judaism and Islam. The meeting was aimed at a mutual exchange of experiences and the search for a space for scientific cooperation between the two Institutions.
One of the main points of the meeting was a presentation by Dr. Jakub Synowiec on the two editions of the Solidarity Summer School organized by the Philosophy Department of UPJPII and the International Center for Research on the Phenomenon of Solidarity. This project, with the aim of internationalizing the Solidarity experience, fits perfectly with the main tenets of AFH's activities - promoting the values of fraternity, freedom and respect for human rights. The presentation itself became the starting point for further discussion by representatives of both Institutions on the possibilities of AFH's involvement in future editions of Solidarity Summer School.
Another proposal from UPJPII was a presentation by the Vice-Chancellor for Internationalisation, Rev. Dr Andrzej Kielian on Montessori education. Rev. Kielian not only presented in a concise and accessible way the main assumptions of this method and its value in the education of the younger generation, but also showed UPJPII as a university supporting the development of future educators in this field.
The AFH delegates also discussed the opportunities for cooperation with HM Rector of UPJPII, who once again emphasized the academic achievements of the University and the commitment of its representatives to intercultural and interfaith dialogue.
We believe that this December meeting will be the beginning of fruitful cooperation between UPJPII and AFH, and that it will contribute to the development of both Institutions in the spirit of brotherhood and mutual exchange of the wealth of our experiences.
