Changes in the Office of International Cooperation - appointment of Rev. Dr. Andrzej Kielian as Vice-Rector for Internationalization
Rev. Dr. Andrzej Kielian was officially welcomed as the new pro-rector for internationalization at the Pontifical University of John Paul II in Krakow, taking up the position on September 2, 2024. Rev. Dr. Kielian received his nomination during a nomination ceremony held on June 13, 2024, in the senate hall of the rectorate at ul. Kanonicza 25, during which Rev. Prof. Robert Tyrała, rector of UPJPII, entrusted four people with the functions of pro-rectors for the years 2024-2028. Rev. Dr. Kielian was honored with the newly created function, reflecting the growing importance of the university's internationalization.
Challenges for the Vice Chancellor for Internationalization
Rev. Dr. Kielian's assumption of the position of pro-rector for internationalization is a response to the university's growing need to develop international cooperation. The new pro-rector will be responsible for coordinating activities related to the mobility of students and academic staff, particularly within the framework of the Erasmus+ program. He will also be tasked with promoting the university internationally and developing relations with foreign educational institutions.
Rev. Dr. Kielian, who has been affiliated with UPJPII for years, has extensive research and teaching experience. In addition to his new role as Vice-Chancellor, he has also been appointed Director of the Doctoral School, highlighting his key role in training the next generation of scientists.

The appointment of Rev. Dr. Kielian is also a major change for the Office of International Cooperation, which will gain a new leader. His experience and commitment to the development of the university's international relations will be crucial to the further development of academic and scientific exchange projects.
