On Tuesday, June 10, 2025, the Pontifical University of John Paul II in Krakow will host a unique event that brings together academic, cultural, and interreligious dimensions.

The day’s program includes the official opening of the exhibition titled "In the Footsteps of Eastern Christians", dedicated to the heritage of Christian communities in the Middle East, the Caucasus, and Central Asia. The exhibition, initiated by L’Œuvre d’Orient and the Institut des Chrétiens d’Orient, presents the rich diversity of spiritual traditions and the often difficult histories of Eastern Christian communities.

A key part of the event will be the signing of cooperation agreements between UPJPII and the following institutions:

  • Institut des Chrétiens d’Orient (France) – an organization committed to documenting and supporting Christian communities in the East,

  • Ukrainian Catholic University in Lviv – a leading Catholic academic institution in Central and Eastern Europe.

The event will also feature a panel discussion titled “On the Frontlines: How Academic Institutions Adapt to Complex Geopolitical Realities?” Participants from partner institutions and the academic community will reflect on the current situation of Eastern Christians, prospects for collaboration, and the role of universities in fostering interreligious and intercultural dialogue.

More details are available on the UPJPII website.
